Sarawak Digital
Sarawak Digital and Innovation Ecosystem (SDIE)
Sarawak Digital is a unified brand identity to the State's innovation initiatives, support and facilities from both public and private sectors.
The Sarawak Digital and Innovation Ecosystem (SDIE) is one of the Catalytic Initiatives under SDEC as part of the Sarawak Economic Action Council (SEAC) and in support of (or in line with) the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy (2018 – 2022). Abbreviated as Sarawak Digital, it is an ecosystem established in 2019 and has since provided services and opportunities for digital talents and startups including co-working spaces, development programs, funding and investment opportunities, events, technology partners, research and development platforms as well as international market access.
Sarawak Digital bridges facilities and initiatives such as Digital Village in Samajaya, Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH), Digital Community Centres (DCC), private sector co-working spaces, accelerators and incubators, funding partners and synergizes with the Centre of Excellence.
To date, 9 DIH are operational throughout the State including Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Mukah, Sibu, Kapit, and Lawas. In addition to these facilities, DCC are available in smaller towns across the State. Together with our key partners, SDEC is also working hard to provide connectivity in rural areas to allow students, MSMEs and local innovators to be active participants of the digital economy.
With both facilities and connectivity in place along with strategic development programs and initiatives, Sarawak Digital allows local entrepreneurs and innovators to expand their businesses to the regional and global market. These initiative also creates new skillsets and jobs for locals, from students to lifelong learners.
